This is a project I gave myself to make a website, and perhaps webSITES in the future, connected to a group Discord roleplay I am in with my friends. I had made a Neocites in the past that didn't work out that I loved dearly, so this is my jump back into the saddle of HTML coding. Not quite an ARG, merely bonus content to enrich the RP experience. And believe me, it feels good to be back.
What's the plot?
Moonsetter Industires is a security comapany that is more than it seems on the surface. If you wish to poke around, discover some of the goings on here, I cannot garauntee that you will be able to access or understand everything, given that clues and hints as well as context will sometimes be revealed in the CLOSED Discord Roleplay itself. Please do not ask to enter said roleplay as it is for close friends only.
Why a website?
The reason why I made the website itself was inspired by the small surge of "Corporate Horror" media I've been interested in for a while now, which I can best explain as "average workplaces with unusual happenings that are treated as normal". It is a subgenre of Analouge Horror and is tied loosely to the concept of ARGs. Moonsetter Industries as a whole is an example of the Corporate Horror genre, or at least as close as I could get it. I also have had an intrest in old operating systems and old internet stuff for ages now, and this website is me flexing that muscle and coating it in GIFs.
My main influences are:
Blue Horizons Inc., a Youtube horror series (which has their own mysterious website/store) about a company of average Joys and Joes who learn how to do hand to hand manipulation and other essential skills in the workplace.
Home Safety Hotline, a Steam game about working at a hotline to help people deal with common and uncommon pests around the home.
Last Seen Online, a free Itch.io game where you go through an old computer you bought at a yardsale and find more than what you're looking for.
Happy Meat Farms, a ARG Youtube page and website about a meat producing company that hides a sinister secret.
Feel free to check them out by opening them in a new page!
Can I link you on my website?
ABSOLUTELY! Make sure to use this button or any of the Moonsetter graphics here, but please save the images and refrain from hyperlinking.
Leave a comment or concern but please. NO SPOILERS OR HINTS AT ANYTHING.
